As OYP Chairman, I am committed to showcasing Orangeburg County as a beautiful place to live, work and play. As a native of Orangeburg and as an owner of businesses in downtown Orangeburg for nearly 20 years,
I truly understand and care about the continued success and growth of Orangeburg’s citizens, businesses, visitors and developing industry.
Orangeburg Young Professionals also known as OYP, a non-profit organization, is an affiliate of the Orangeburg County Chamber of Commerce. OYP supports The Chambers goals and objectives with the purpose of engaging and connecting both existing and future young professionals.
Membership is open to community oriented persons ages 21 – 50 from all counties living, working, or with interest in Orangeburg County. By building relationships with other young professionals and business leaders, OYP seeks to empower and inspire young leaders to advance their careers and ultimately impact the greater community.
Since its inception in 2007, OYP has focused on social networking events and developing two signature community service projects, Bark in the Park, a fundraiser for the SPCA and assisting Toys for Tots.
This year we are eagerly excited as we have assessed and revamped the core values and intent of OYP. Our platform is to strengthen young leaders with personal, professional and leadership development, community involvement through volunteer and fundraising opportunities, and providing networking and social events.
We have a wonderful year planned to ensure that OYP members are equipped both professionally and socially with the necessary tools to lead the next generation into greatness. Focusing on sustaining a leadership society that fosters growth and development of young professionals in our community.
